Am Sonntag, den 07. August 2016 wurde durch unbekannte Dritte die folgende E-Mail in englischer Sprache versendet:

Our security system noticed unusual charges to a credit-card linked to your PayPal account.
Unfortunately, your account has been temporarily limited because of the following reason:
Suspicious activities triggered our security system that led us to believe an un-authorized user
tried to use your PayPal account without your permission. In order to ensure greater security, we have
limited access to your account. We have sent you an attachment containing the necessary steps
in order to restore your account privileges. Simply download the form and open it in your web browser.Please do understand that this is a security precaution to safeguard you and your
account. We apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused.Sincerely,

Die E-Mail mit dem Betreff „We have limited your account“ soll angeblich von PayPal Security Team ([email protected]) versendet worden sein. Statt einem Link auf eine gefälschte Seite bringt die E-Mail gleich das Phishing-Formular mit („PayPal_Document734.html“).
PayPal hat eine Informationsseite zu Phishing. Leiten Sie Phishing-Mails mit PayPal-Bezug an [email protected] weiter!
Mittels dem Formular werden – analog der E-Mail We need to hear from you vom 25.05. oder Suspicious activity vom 20.04. – verschiedene persönliche Daten abgefragt. Bitte öffnen Sie nicht das Fomular und geben Sie keine Daten ein! Alle Daten werden an unbekannte Dritte übermittelt!
